Coral Eyewear
Coral Eyewear - Sustainable, British Eyewear Available at Eye Academy
Looking for stylish and sustainable eyewear that won't compromise on style? Look no further than Coral Eyewear, the UK's premier sustainable eyewear brand. Founded by father-son duo George and Calvin Bailey, Coral Eyewear is on a mission to educate the world about planet-positive solutions. Their Italian-crafted frames are made from environmentally friendly, recycled materials such as ECONYL, a high-quality nylon created out of fishing nets from the aquaculture sector and other post-consumer waste materials such as fabric scraps and carpets.
What Makes Coral Eyewear Different?
The majority of eyewear brands use virgin plastic, but Coral Eyewear is different. They use rescued waste found at sea and in landfills to create sustainable eyewear that is both stylish and eco-friendly. Their impact-free delivery offsets environmental shipping costs too, and their glasses are infinitely recyclable; even the cases and cleaning cloths are made from recycled materials.
Coral Eyewear is the first UK-based company to create and launch a collection of glasses and sunglasses made with ECONYL regenerated nylon. ECONYL, produced by Italian manufacturer Aquafil, can reduce the global warming impact of nylon by up to 90% when compared with the same material derived from oil.

At Eye Academy, we are official stockists of two of Coral Eyewear’s sustainably made collections.
The Ocean Collection from Coral Eyewear
The Ocean Collection is made from recycled fishing nets and has a unique, tactile feel to them.
The Earth Collection from Coral Eyewear
The Earth Collection is made from recycled plastics, wood pulp, and plant oils, and adjusts and glazes like traditional acetates. The bright, semi-translucent colours have been a big hit since they launched them in late 2022.
