Children can very commonly suffer from dry eye, particularly as they can spend large periods of their day viewing computer or television screens, and performing a great deal of concentrated close work.

Children can very commonly suffer from dry eye, particularly as they can spend large periods of their day viewing computer or television screens, and performing a great deal of concentrated close work. They are often unable to identify their symptoms or unable to communicate their symptoms to their parents or carers.

Common signs and symptoms to look out for can include:

- Tired eyes by the end of the day

- Red eyes, particularly after school and in the evenings

- Frequent pronounced blinking

- Frequent rubbing of the eyes

- Complaints of transient blurred vision, which improves on blinking or eye rubbing

Please note: You must have had an eye examination with us within the past 12 months to be able to book for a Dry Eye Assessment. If not, we will book you in for an eye examination at the same time.
